The Decendants - 29/1/12

I do try to see all of the Oscar nominated films each year,(which is the only reason I sat through the painfully dreadful Black Swan)and had read reams of reviews about how amazing this film was. Maybe I had read to many because while I did enjoy the film I was not as impressed as I felt I was supposed to be. Don't get me wrong George Clooney is excellent, but I wasn't blown away by his performance, I think more praise should be being given to the kids especially the actor who plays Sid as he I feel was one of the funniest and saddest characters in the whole movie.

Mission Impossible - Ghost Protocol - 14/1/12

This film did not leave me wowed, it was more of the same from the preceding films, though thankfully better than MI3. Simon Pegg made it for me, his understated humour distracting from the puffed up Tom Cruise.

The Artist - 7/1/12

Didn't know going in if I was going to like this film, silent film in black and white, how would this work - but the hype is all true! This film is amazing even if the quietness of it takes some getting used to, until I saw this film I had not realised just how much noise gets pumped at you in an average movie. I was so grateful that I went to the grown up cinema to see this where everyone seems to follow the Wittertainment Code of Conduct, as any munching of popcorn would have been even more irritating that usual. The soundtrack is amazing and since it plays such a pivotal role in the film, listening to it after ward you can almost see the film in your head. Both leading actors are fantastic but the real star is the dog.

Arthur Christmas - 27/12/11

LOVED this film, it managed to be both Hollywood but still very British in its jokes and humour. Defiantly one to get on DVD as it is sure to join the list of Christmas classics
